New chemical products and processes for the upstream oil and gas industry increasingly have to be technically effective in their applications, cost effective and provide significant health and safety advantages with minimal environmental impact.

From the outset Cleansorb seeks to develop new products and technology that deliver these features.  

Key characteristics of Cleansorb products include: 

• Low hazard ratings for handling and transportation

• Low toxicity to humans

• Low ecotoxicity

• Ready biodegradability 

An example of how Cleansorb products can deliver health, safety and environmental advantages over conventional systems is the use of the Arcasolve^TM acidizing process as an alternative to processes based on conventional acids.  In addition to its high technical performance in acidizing applications, Arcasolve provides the following advantages to users.   

• Use of concentrated corrosive acids is completely avoided. 

• The Arcasolve^TM acidizing fluids are low hazardous, non-toxic, safe and easy to use.

• Arcasolve may be mixed and pumped using conventional oilfield equipment.

• No need to pump at high rate and pressures.  

• Both fresh and spent Arcasolve^TM acidizing fluids are non-corrosive and readily biodegradable. 

• Spent fluid is typically disposed of through normal produced water handling systems. 

Cleansorb products registered for offshore use in the North Sea are all OCNS Group E or HQ band GOLD status signifying they all have very low environmental impact.
