Press Release 2 November 1998
Arcasolve HA becomes a Millennium Product
For immediate release:

Arcasolve HA
Arcasolve HA has been granted Millennium Products Status by the United Kingdom Design Council.
The news was announced by Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Mandelson at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Conference in Birmingham on Monday, 2 November.
Arcasolve HA is an enzyme-based process for stimulating the production rate of oil or gas wells. The process has been developed by Cleansorb Limited, based in Yateley, Hampshire, UK.
Arcasolve HA combines enzymes (biological catalysts) with suitable chemicals to generate organic acid at a controlled rate in a fluid injected into the wellbore or formation. The bulk of the acid is produced after placement of the fluid, permitting the efficient and even delivery of acid to the target zones. This results in the removal of acid-soluble drilling mud residues, rock debris or scale, maximising the production rate of the well and its value to the operator.
Arcasolve HA is environmentally friendly and very low hazard. Use of conventional acids generally requires the use of toxic corrosion inhibitors and conventional acids are hazardous in use.
Dr. Ian McKay, a Director of Cleansorb said "We are pleased that Arcasolve HA has been selected by the panel as a Millennium Product. The process is already being used by leading international oil companies world-wide. As well as being highly effective for the stimulation of oil or gas production, it offers customers significant health and safety and environmental benefits"

3. Selection as a Millennium Product means that the product has been effectively shortlisted for inclusion in the Millennium Dome at Greenwich, UK.
4. Cleansorb Limited, based in Yateley, Hampshire, UK, is a privately owned biotechnology company which specialises in developing enzyme-based processes which assist oil and gas production. Contact: Ian McKay, Tel. ++ 44 (0)1252 860641
5. In addition to Arcasolve, Cleansorb has other award winning enzyme-based processes under development which allow the controlled deposition of gels, minerals or resins in underground reservoirs. These have a number of applications in oil and gas production.
