Press Release 12 January 2000
Arcasolve to be Featured in Millennium Dome
Arcasolve(TM) will be one of the Millennium Products to be featured on the Spiral of
Innovation situated above the Millennium Domes Meridian Quarter.
Arcasolve is a patented and highly effective method of acidizing oil and gas wells in
which acid is generated in-situ using enzyme catalysts. In-situ generation ensures
excellent zonal coverage. The process has particular application in the removal of
drilling fluid damage, deep matrix acidising and the stimulation of fracture networks as
well as other acidizing applications.
Cleansorb Directors Ralph Harris and Ian McKay were present at the announcement of the
fifth and final tranche of Millennium Products which took place at the Dome Complex on
14th December and included speeches from John Sorrell, Chairman of the Design Council and
the Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Notes to Editors:
1. British Prime Minister Tony Blair Launched the Millennium Products Initiative in
September 1997 to identify and promote the most innovative products, designs and services
which will change the way we live in the 21st century. Selection criteria include
innovation, creativity and whether the product is pioneering in its field.
2. Arcasolve was awarded Millennium Products status during the second tranche in November
1998. A total of 1,012 products have now been granted Millennium Products status, ranging
from the Airbus A340-500/-600 wing to a simple water purification system for use in
emergency situations and from needleless injection systems to anti-counterfeiting systems.
3. All Millennium Products have had to meet strict criteria, proving in front of selected
panels of highly regarded business leaders, scientists, designers and social commentators
that they:
· open up new opportunities
· challenge existing conventions
· are environmentally responsible
· demonstrate the application of new or existing technology
· show clear user benefits
