Uniform deep matrix acidizing

Uniform deep matrix acidizing

deep matrix acidising

Deep matrix acidizing is ideal for situations where the productivity or injectivity of a well is low due to limited matrix permeability. Removal of acid soluble near wellbore damage by in-situ acidizing can also significantly increase production. DEEPA uniformly increases the permeability of the rock matrix up to several metres radius around the wellbore. DEEPA treatments are applied to revitalize old and underperforming assets in carbonate formations or sandstone formations containing some carbonate: e.g. carbonate cementation or secondary mineralization or formations that have a build-up of carbonate scale. DEEPA may also be used for the stimulation of natural fracture networks in carbonate formations.

DEEPA treatments are simple to use and non-hazardous, thereby removing hazardous materials from inventory, trucking and well-site. Simple to mix and pump with standard oilfield equipment, HSE risks are reduced, protecting the asset, company and contractor personnel as well as the environment. DEEPA does not require complex disposal post treatment.

DEEPA treatments are compatible with all completion brines, can be mixed at well site with completion brines, town water or produced water. DEEPA does not require high pump rates for effective fluid placement and uniform matrix acidizing and is well suited to selective placement techniques.

DEEPA treatments typically increase production by up to 50% or more by optimizing zonal coverage and achieve uniform radial and longitudinal fluid placement throughout the target zone.
